Dumbarton's Regiment of Foot 1685

The Royal Regiment of Foot (Dumbarton's) as at Sedgemoor 1685. This is my third regiment of foot for the King's army at Sedgemoor.

Full regiment based to 'Beneath the Lily Banners' by Barry Hilton

Pike company

Musketeer companies

Command stand

Although the mass of unpainted castings is only going down very slowly I have now created some useful units and there is a real sense of satisfaction! All painting (including flags) by me.

  1. Lead mountain may be going down slowly, but I would call it a very good throughput - at high quality

  6. Really great figures - how do you do the flags, can I ask? Simon.

  7. Your comments are very kind and much appreciated.

Simon - I'll give flag details on a post very soon. In essence I photocopy the flag and scale to appropriate size, then block paint and highlight. Attach to pole and tidy up. It's a bit crude but tends to look ok. I'm just doing one to show you as a brief walk through!

  8. I'm rather taken with these. i've written a bit about Dunbarton's regiment, in particular their 1689 mutiny at The Eagle Clawed Wolfe http://eagleclawedwolfe.wordpress.com/ . What source is your basis for the uniforms?
