Completed Scots Units 1388

First up Sir Thomas Erskine of Alloa. This unit will line up alongside Sir John Swinton's to create another Schiltron.

Next John Dunbar, Earl of Moray and George Dunbar, Earl of March forming another Scot Schiltron.

That completes the main units I was hoping to do before Christmas.

I'm currently working on some figs to comprise the Douglas stand/ unit but I'm in no hurry to complete that - it will be done at an 'as and when' pace as I intend to enjoy the Christmas festivities to the full!!

Here's a few I've done already. These will 'bulk out' the Douglas and Douglas Standard Bearer figures who will be centre stage.

The Knight (second left) is Sir John Lindsey of Dunford who played an important role around the Douglas command so he will be included here - more details on this later (when I get my facts correct.)

All figs are from Claymore Castings.
Fantastic flags from Flags of War.

Thanks for all your previous comments on my work - they are warmly recieved and much appreciated.

Scots 'Schiltron' at Otterburn

Here is the completed unit of Scots. This unit represents Drummond and Montgomery at Otterburn 1388.

Again, I can add to this unit to make it more dramatic as and when. My first objective is to get the main units completed first!

A few close-ups of the individual stands:

Figures from 'Claymore Castings.' Great flags from 'Flags of War.'

Next up (hopefully) is the schiltron for the Earl of March and Earl of Moray.

Percy Battle Complete

A few pics of the Percy Battle based and ready for action. There are some shots of the individual stands to show the quality of the castings.

Well underway are the next batch of Scots - I've completed the back row of the Drummond and Montgomery unit and will post the completed unit soon. This will be a 6 base unit. Flags and personalities in the front row!

'Otterburn' Units Based

The figures for 'Otterburn' are now based and ready for action.

First up is Sir Mathew Redman's contingent followed by 2 units of English archers.

All flags and shield transfers are by Flags of War. All figures are Claymore Castings.

I'm using the archer unit below as part of the Percy's retinue. I have nearly used up all the castings I purchased from Claymore Castings so the Percy Battle itself will have to wait until I get some more. Good news is I'm close to having painted all I bought so that fits in nicely with the 'reducing the metal mountain' plan I had back in January!!

Archer unit which is part of Sir Mathew Redman's retinue:

A few painted 'bits and pieces' (including some of the new casualty figs) which I will use to make up another unit if I have enough figs.

NOTE
I've been having problems loading pics into my blog hence the lack of recent posts. I think I may have been 'over heavy' on the pics on this blog as I get the impression things are starting to slow down and 'fill up' if that makes sense.

I posted some other pics of the Otterburn figs on the Steve Dean Forum last Friday under the title 'Otterburn 1388' figs but was unable to get them uploaded to this blog. I kept getting the message 'server returned invalid response' so I am none the wiser. Anyway with a bit of playing around with Picassa I've managed to get the above pics uploaded.
